Krakowskie Przedmiescie ends at the neo-classic monumental Staszic Palace.
The Palace was built according to a design by Antonio Corazzi for the Society of Friends of Sciences in 1820, due to the effort, economic as well, of the co-founder and chairman Stanislaw Staszic.
It is now seat of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The monument to Nicolaus Copernicus, work by the Danish Bertel Thorvaldsen (1820), stands in front of Staszic Palace.
